RUTH KINNETT

General Member

I am a long-term resident of the Grand Valley, having come to this area in 1975. I am actually a native of Colorado, having been born in Denver and given up for adoption. I was fortunate enough to be adopted by a rancher and his wife and raised on a ranch in Eagle, Colorado (so I can relate in a small measure what some of the children are going through in Uganda). My husband and I raised two beautiful daughters, as well as his younger brother. We now have 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. We have been blessed indeed!
I had met Mathias a few years ago and knew he had established this wonderful organization - Father to the Fatherless - which to me was such a wonderful, God-pleasing thing to do. After my husband passed away and I had retired from real estate, I needed something to occupy my time. I asked God to place me where He needed me... and Mathias called me that very same day. So here I am!

KATHY STOCKERT

Sponsorship Coordinator

I was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, in 1952. My father was a first-generation American, as his parents immigrated from Italy. I graduated from Fruita Monument High School and attended Mesa State College for one year. I married my high school sweetheart, Jim Stocker, in 1972. We had two boys, and I worked as an administrative assistant until I retired in 2004, while my husband was a teacher. I became a widow in 2013. At that time, my son and his wife were involved with Father to the Fatherless and suggested I meet with Mathias to learn about this ministry. During the meeting, I instantly knew I wanted to be part of this amazing ministry and joined as the Child Sponsor Coordinator.I also make and sell soap to purchase animals for the property in Uganda; and sew pillowcase dresses for the girls attending school there. I love the Lord and it is my desire to dedicate my life to His service and bring Him glory.

We’re proud to be a group of movers and shakers.
